Lesson Sprout / FIELD NOTES
A simple three-pass listening routine
Give each listen a different purpose.
First listen: the situation
Ask one broad question: where are the speakers, or what do they need? Let learners compare impressions before replaying.
Second listen: the details
Use two or three concrete questions about the passage. Confirm that every answer is actually present in the script.
Third listen: useful language
Give learners the transcript and focus on a few reusable expressions. Check synthetic audio for pronunciation before using it in class.
